Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics trainer who would become Comaneci's coach later in life she discovered her when she was six. She was the five-time European champ winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the first woman to ever successfully complete the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar.
